FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about recovery and care at home.

Yes. Prime Years Care Agency can often arrange support to help make the transition home more manageable, subject to an individual assessment and our ability to safely meet your needs. Support may include personal care, meals, mobility, medication support, household routines, and companionship while you recover.

Yes. Some people only need support for a short period while recovering from a fall, fracture, joint injury, operation, or other physical injury. Your care can be arranged around your recovery and reviewed as your needs and confidence change.

Depending on your assessed needs and agreed Care Plan, support may include washing, dressing, toileting and continence care, preparing meals and drinks, light housekeeping, medication support, safe support with daily routines, shopping, companionship and help attending follow-up or rehabilitation appointments.

Care Workers can support you to follow guidance already provided by your healthcare team where this is safe, recorded in your Care Plan and within their training and competence. This may include encouraging prescribed exercises or helping you attend physiotherapy appointments. Care Workers do not provide physiotherapy, diagnose injuries, or prescribe treatment.

Yes. Recovery does not follow the same timetable for everyone. Your Care Plan can be reviewed and adjusted as your mobility, confidence, and ability to manage everyday tasks change. Support may reduce as you become more independent or increase if recovery takes longer than expected.

Overnight care may be helpful when moving around at night is difficult or you need additional support and reassurance until morning. Live-in care may be considered when you need more continuous support or are not yet safe to be left alone for long periods. The appropriate level of care depends on an individual assessment and the support that can be safely provided.

Care Workers do not diagnose injuries, prescribe treatment, or replace physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, GPs, or emergency services.
